Our Canadian Summer in a Nutshell

Hello Devoted Followers! (only the devoted will not have given up on us!!!!)

I know there are people out there that want us to keep this thing going. And I think we can and will do it. Life is settling down for us and we can finally try to get our groove back. So, why not start back on the road of blogging with a “how we spent our summer” post? We’ve talked a bit about the process of returning to Canada…and about our European vacation…this post is basically a photo-documentary of some of the fun stuff we’ve done since arriving in Canada. If you're still reading, please let us know. It'll inspire us! (And surprise us!)

We celebrated Canada Day!

We celebrated Ben’s first birthday!

We celebrated Ella’s 5th birthday!

We celebrated Nana Kendall’s 85th birthday!

Ella went to her first dance. Daddy was her date.

We visited with friends. Here we are with the Thompson girls. (And now we've met Oscar, too!)

Here we are with the Coopers.

We got to meet Puran Ekya!

We spent time with family, including a great visit to Five Islands. The 4 granddaughters and our families (including great-grandchildren) spent a weekend with Nana Kempt.

We had lots of time with Yaya and Baboo...including touring a coal mine in Springhill where Baboo's father had worked.

And we had a wonderful visit from Grammy and Grampy.

We spent lots of time at the beach.

And once we got caught in the rain.

We went canoeing.

We ate yummy seafood.

We harvested blueberries at the MacAulay Farm on Mt. Thom.

Maylia and Jeff partied it up in NH – celebrating Michelle’s 40th! WOOHOO!

We moved to Dartmouth (ok, the actual moving part is not-so-fun).

And then we (Ella and Mattias, that is) started school.
